The process

Four steps. Plain. Boring. On purpose.

Step 01

Free in-home assessment

We come out, walk your property with you, and talk through coverage. 30 minutes. No pitch, no pressure to book anything that day.

Same-day or next-day across Durham
You
  • Show us the spots that worry you
  • Mention any wifi dead zones
  • Ask anything
Us
  • Measure cabling runs
  • Check sightlines & glare
  • Test your network
Step 02

Plain-English written quote

Within 24 hours you get a quote with every line item — exact cameras, exact mounting points, exact total. No call-for-pricing nonsense.

24-hour turnaround · 30-day price hold
You
  • Read it · ask anything
  • Sleep on it
  • E-transfer 50% to book a date
Us
  • Write it up the same week
  • Hold the price 30 days
  • Answer follow-ups by text
Step 03

We install in a single day

Most 4-camera homes are done in 4–6 hours. We hardwire everything to a local recorder, hide cabling in soffits, and tidy up before we leave.

Typically 4–6 hrs · 6-cam runs 6–8 hrs
You
  • Be home for arrival & sign-off
  • Park out of the driveway
  • Have wifi password handy
Us
  • Run Cat6, mount cameras
  • Wire up the recorder
  • Pair every device
Step 04

Walkthrough & ongoing support

Before we leave, we sit with you, set up your phone, your spouse's phone, the kids' tablet. Show you how to scrub the timeline. Then we're on text whenever you need us.

30-min walkthrough · 3-year parts & labour warranty
You
  • Hand us your phone
  • Try every camera
  • Save our number
Us
  • Pair every device
  • Write down passwords
  • Leave you a one-pager
A typical install day

Hour-by-hour, so you know what to expect.

Sample 4-camera install. Bigger systems run 6–8 hours. We always finish in one visit unless we hit something we can't see (aluminum siding, finished basement with no access).

Day shape
  1. 8:30 · 9:00
    Arrival & coffee
We park on the street, walk the plan with you one more time, lay drop sheets at every entry.
  2. 9:00 · 11:30
    Mounting & cabling
Cameras get mounted first, then we fish Cat6 through soffits and basements. The loud part of the day.
  3. 11:30 · 12:30
    Recorder & power
The recorder lands in your utility room. Wired into your router with its own UPS battery.
  4. 12:30 · 1:00
    Lunch break
We disappear for 30. Property stays tidy, gear gets covered, kids and dogs can come back in.
  5. 1:00 · 3:00
    Camera tuning
Each angle gets aimed, masked, and stress-tested in daylight, glare, and tree-shadow.
  6. 3:00 · 4:00
    App pairing
Your phone, partner's phone, kids' tablet. Faces, fingerprints, the lot. Everyone gets the right access level.
  7. 4:00 · 4:30
    Walkthrough
We sit with you for 30 minutes. Show every gesture. Leave a one-pager and our cell number.

Process FAQ

What homeowners ask before booking.

Pricing-specific questions are on the Packages page.

How quickly can you start?
Most quote visits happen within 24 hours. Once you've signed off and put down a deposit, install day is usually 5–10 days out depending on our schedule. Rush jobs are sometimes possible.
Do I have to be home all day?
Just for the start (10 min) and the walkthrough at the end (30 min). The middle of the day, you can be at work or out — we let ourselves out and lock up.
Will you damage walls or siding?
We try very hard not to. Cabling hides in soffits, attics, and basements wherever possible. Drilled holes are 3/8" and weatherproofed on the outside. We always show you the route before drilling.
What if you find a problem mid-install?
We stop, show you the issue, and quote any extra work in writing before continuing. We never silently add charges. If we can't safely complete, we put it back the way we found it and refund the deposit.
What happens after install — am I on my own?
No. You get a one-page cheat sheet, our cell number, and a 3-year parts & labour warranty. If a camera, the recorder, or anything related to our install fails inside that window, we come out and replace it at no charge. Most homeowners hear from us at the 30-day check-in either way.

Free in-home assessment. Written quote. No pressure.
